Kefalonia is the largest island of the Ionian sea, and for that reason hiring a car is a highly recommended action for travellers and tourists. Like most islands in Greece, public transportation in Kefalonia island is very limited. It is mostly covering the main routes of the islands. During the summer season especially, there are a few public bus routes between Kefalonia Airport, Lassi, and Argostoli. However, these routes only cover the main routes and and populated places in the island. In some less populated/known areas, there is no public transportation services to be used.
